Losertown Is Now a Grass Fed Beef Zone!

Yes, that's right. I have sworn off corn fed beef ever since I made a trip up to Hedgeapple Farm in Buckeystown, MD and bought some sirloin, flank steak, and hamburger patties to try out. I knew something was different about this natural, pasture raised beef when I started cooking it. The smell was amazing! And when I took a bite--I was in heaven. The strong, robust, "beefy" flavor gave my taste buds a wicked ride.

You know, for the longest time, I knew something was not right with the beef I bought at the local supermarket. I couldn't understand why I wasn't enjoying the taste of steak like I remembered. It looked pretty, and it was juicy, but there was no flavor really. Unfortunately, it seems beef has gone the way of the Red Delicious apple. Pretty to look at, nice and juicy--but there's no flavor!

I really don't care about the health arguments--all that matters to me is the taste. I love the taste of strong--even gamey--meat like lamb and venison. I guess if you don't like that, grass fed beef isn't for you. But I for one will never eat corn fed beef again if I can help it!

I can't help but set up another useless page for the band--this time it is for Facebook. But I was stunned when it came time to upload some music. Facebook, for legal reasons it says, wants a picture of some kind of legal documentation that proves that I am me--such as a photo ID. Which in my case would be my driver's license or passport. There is no way in hell that I am going to give that out--just to upload our music?!?

November 13, 2007

Making music is fine and all, but it's hard to make a living from it, so we also invest in the stock market. That's right--we have a portfolio. Curious as to what that is?

The Losertown Portfolio

MSFT
NUAN
MVL
UMPQ
EWJ
SPIL

The Microsoft position was opened last May, but the rest were opened within the last couple of months. It's been a little bumpy ride lately, but we're not worried. Here at Losertown, our philosophy is buy and hold!

September 23, 2007

The guys finally uploaded a new podcast. Listen to Steven as he shows you how to sing like Hugh Grant in Music and Lyrics.

September 3, 2007

Summer is over. We had a nice, lazy summer, and all indications point to a lazy fall as well, although we hope to be a little productive. On Saturday we took a trip to Charles Town and Steve won a hundred bucks playing the penny slots. Today, I did a little home repair and replaced a leaky faucet cartridge. It's a Moen faucet, and they use a cartridge design--it's expensive--a replacement (2224 model) at Home Depot cost $14.65! It took several attempts from both me and Steve (the "S" man just stood and watched us) to finally yank the old cartridge out. But now, after seven years, we have hot water in the bathroom sink again! Yes, that's how lazy we are. Seven years ago it started leaking, so we turned off the water to the hot water in the sink, and we just finally got around to fixing it. So now you really know why we take so long to record stuff!

July 6, 2007

Well, summer is in full swing, and we hope everyone is keeping cool. We're in the process of revamping the website. It looks pretty bad, doesn't it? Steve is going to handle it--since we're too cheap to pay anybody. Steve says he's just going to use a template. The template actually looks pretty nice. It's an open source CSS template by Andreas Viklund. Add this to the list of things we say we're going to do, but never do!

I'm still trying to learn Chinese (more or less). I'm currently using a site called Chinese Learn Online. I think the guy who created it had to call it that because someone already took Learn Chinese Online. Anyway, I used to use Chinesepod--and I still visit that site from time to time--but I couldn't take it anymore. Frankly, the users there have all gotten too creepy for me. I don't know, they seem like a bunch of lonely old men trying to learn Chinese so they can go find a Chinese girlfriend.

Anyway, I really like how Chinese Learn Online is structured. It all seems really logical to me, taking you from point A to point B. And they have a bunch of nice little tools to quiz you. There are a bunch of Mandarin learning sites these days--I guess Chinesepod is the granddaddy of the bunch. If you want to learn Chinese, you should check them all out, because what works for one person may not be as effective to another.

June 18, 2007

Well, Jiang Qi Hui has left the band. We kind of knew this was coming during our recent trip to China. Qi Hui felt that basically, "we weren't going anywhere" and Steve and I said, "yeah, so?" So he left. What that means is that Steven will take over all the guitar duties and Steve will move over to bass. Let's face it, both Stev (who left in 2004) and Qi Hui stunk at the bass, so is it really going to matter?

We wish him well though. He's starting his own band in China called The 3Represents, which will include Anus Chen on guitar and Asparagus Hu on drums. Yes, that's right--Anus and Asparagus.

As a farewell, we recorded one last song with Qi Hui. He wrote it himself. It's called, "我的女朋友的肛门很漂亮." We'll post it this weekend once we clean it up a bit. Anyway, good luck, Qi Hui!

May 28, 2007

On the left is a picture of Wu Zun, member of the popular Taiwanese boy band Fahrenheit and star of various Taiwanese idol dramas. On the right is Steven. Steven wonders why they aren't big idol stars in Asia.

May 19, 2007

We consolidated a lot of odds and ends we recorded over the years on the Music section. Most of the songs had been listed before on Current News, but we thought it would be nice to have them all listed in one place.

May 9, 2007

Did everyone have a good Golden Week? Steven and Steve returned from China learning the hard way that banks do not do any foreign exchanges with travelers checks during the Golden Week holiday! But luckily for them, they had enough emergency cash on hand to last the week.

February 19, 2007

Happy Chinese New Year! Okay, it was yesterday. Although no one in China calls it that--it's the Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival. Since it's the Year of the Pig, the guys threw a nice pork roast in the oven. It was delicious. Steve likes to use those Lawry's 30 Minute Marinades--he swears they are the best ever.

Steven is struggling to complete the FAWM challenge. He's only up to five songs, which gives him nine more days to put out nine songs. He was hoping to use this as a springboard for material for the next CD. Check out the FAWM site for the demos!

January 26, 2007

FAWM.ORG

Hey, maybe this is the trick for the new year for the guys to break out of their creative block!

November 25, 2006

Did everyone have a good Thanksgiving? The guys started a new tradition this year--going up to Charles Town. Why bother with cooking and cleaning up at home when someone else can feed you? And the food at the Epic Buffet is actually pretty good. Steven had Lady Luck with him that day. He took home $160! Steve basically broke even on the slots, and the "S" man did his usual thing--as soon has he was up five bucks, he stopped.

November 13, 2006

Well, in just under two weeks, it will be the guys' favorite holiday: Thanksgiving! It's not so much that the guys are thankful for anything--they just love to eat. Will Steven finally get some writing done over the long holiday?

October 10, 2006

We love McDonalds! Don't you?

September 3, 2006

Labor Day. Summer is over. What did the guys do over the summer? Not much. But Steven just bought a brand new Ford Focus to replace his aging Ford Escort. The guys are not ones to splurge on things like cars, and so this was a practical purchase. However, since Ford was giving $2,500 rebates, Steven opted for a model with options like a moon roof and a sports package, which includes fog lamps, tachometer, and a leather wrrapped steering wheel. Why not? Even dishwashers have to look forward to something.

July 30, 2006

Well, the guys have decided to kick Steven in the ass to get him going on the new CD for real. So Steven has decided to start an Anomie Train Studio Blog to document the progress in creating, writing, recording, and mixing the CD. You might find it interesting. Or maybe not so much. A studio log was done for Six Feet Under, but since it's so much easier to post using Blogger, that's where the blog is.

You might also have noticed Google ads now are on this site. Does anyone actually click on those? There was a recent Washington Post story on it. They talked to several people who are making a living from Google ads. It's hard to imagine, because the guys here have never clicked on a Google ad on somebody's website. Never. But oh well, they decided to put it on here just to see if they can get some change for beer from it.

July 25, 2006

The guys feel like jinxes. They just started to get into The Concretes when the news came out that lead singer Victoria Bergsman is leaving. The same thing happened when the guys stumbled upon The Delgados, and bang! Emma Pollack leaves.

Maybe some Swedish meatballs at IKEA will lift the spirits.

June 18, 2006

Woowee, what a trip! Steven and Steve got back from China last week, hooking up with Qi Hui in Beijing before making their way down to Guangzhou. They guys report that Guangdong cooking is the best food ever on the planet!

Steven is still in procrastination mode, doing everything to avoid working on the songs for the next CD. So instead he wrote a song in protest of the RIAA and AISD. For those who don't know what the AISD is, that's the Austin Independent School District. Maybe you guys have heard about the story regarding Tamara Hoover, the art teacher who is being threatened with termination because of some photos posted on Flickr by her partner.

So in support, the guys made a video of the song and posted it on YouTube, although anyone would be hard pressed to call it a video. Warning: the song, The RIAA and AISD are C--ksuckers and Motherf---ers, is laced with profanity. Sometimes, it just feels so free to curse!

May 25, 2006

The guys heard a really cool story on MarketPlace about the band Art Brut. Check them out--really cool songs. Part jokey, part melancholy, always raucous. Anyway, the cool thing is that they are franchising their name and songs. So the guys decided to take on the franchise Art Brut 355, with the number 355 in honor of Rockville Pike. Listen to the guys' take on Art Brut's Emily Kane.

No podcast this week--the guys are headed to China! Be back in a while!

April 24, 2006

*Whew* Man, is Steven ever so lazy! Just spread out on the couch like a guinea pig snoozing. In fact, the guys haven't done much of anything this year. Qi Hui has returned to Beijing, and the guys have sheepishly admitted that they wasted the time while he was here. He'll be back though in the fall. In the meantime, the gang plans a trip over to Beijing in a month or so. Steve's just itching to try some of those meaty pancakes.

February 5, 2006

Well, the Steelers won the Super Bowl. It wasn't a big surprise--they were really playing tough all through the playoffs. Another song in the Christina Rossetti series was uploaded on www.download.com. Just click on Music and search for Anomie Train. This song was taken from the poem, When I am Dead, My Dearest. Actually, the poem doesn't seem to have a title, so the poem is referred to by its first line. Steven was surprised to find that a lot of people apparently have turned that poem into a song, including Carrie Jacobs-Bond, who wrote I Love You Truly. Probably every kid in America learned that song in music class.

January 29, 2006

Happy Chinese New Year! It's the Year of the Dog. They say it's supposed to be a good year for marriages, so good luck to whoever is tying the knot this year. Steven has been studying Mandarin through the ChinesePod site, and one of the lessons involved a story using all the words learned so far. This inspired Steven to write this two minute song in Chinese, She's Not Home, using the Chinese that he's learned so far. This song took a million takes because Qi Hui kept laughing at Steven during the recording.

The simple lyrics translate to this:

Yesterday, I was very upset.
Yesterday, I was very upset.
Where did she go?
She's not home.

Today, I am very upset.
Today, I am very upset.
Where did she go?
She's not home.

Why? I'm not happy.
I don't know.
Why? She's not home.
I don't understand.

Tomorrow, I'll be very upset.
Tomorrow, I'll be very upset.
Where is she going?
She's not home.

A while ago, some woman uploaded a song she wrote, Song of Pigs to www.163888.net, where it was downloaded like a billion times. So if anyone can upload our track there, we'd appreciate it very much. The opportunity to be rejected by over a billion Chinese is just too good to pass up!

January 22, 2006

Welcome to the new year! I hope 2006 is going swimmingly for everyone. The guys have decided to work on a side project, turning some Christina Rossetti poems into songs. This is sort of a companion project to the current work being done for the new CD. You can check out Weary in Well-Doing in the latest podcast of Losertown Today. A 192 bitrate mp3 of the song is posted on www.download.com. All the songs using Christina Rossetti poems will be published under a Creative Commons license.

December 27, 2005

Was Santa good to everyone this year? Steven got a new Palm Tungsten TX from Santa to replace an aging Handspring Visor, and it is awesome! All the guys kept putting their grubby little hands on it, so Steven made sure he put one of those screen protectors on it. Wi-fi, Bluetooth, the ability to play music and videos, and that beautiful 320 x 480 screen (which you can flip to landscape mode at a push of a button)--will this help Palm win back users from Microsoft? Check out this fantastic graphic novel, NYC2123. The guy made it for the Sony PSP, but it looks beautiful on the Tungsten TX as well!

November 20, 2005

Does everybody have their eatin' pants ready for Thanksgiving? You know, the really baggy pants with a waistband that stretches?

If you've been following the Losertown Today podcasts, you know in the last one the guys did an acoustic version of Fallen Trees. While you're at it, check out Steven practicing Mandarin set to music.

November 13, 2005

I'm going to drop into <real life mode> here for a sec...

This past Friday, I attended the funeral of Sing G. Mon. He was basically the family patriarch of the entire Mon clan, having brought everybody over from China to America. I have very fond memories of going to his family's rowhouse in Washington, DC as a young boy for Thanksgiving and Christmas. All the Mons would be there, and every year we'd see each other grow a little older, a little taller, and before you knew it, additions would arrive by way of marriage and new babies, and then we'd get to watch them grow a little older, a little taller.

My own immediate family moved out to Annapolis when I was a teenager, so we didn't see him as much any more. The last time I saw him was at a family gathering to celebrate his 90th birthday. He was still going strong then. He was 95 years old when he passed away. That is a good, long life. Rest in peace!

Okay, </real life mode>

October 4, 2005

The guys have concluded that the design for this site sucks. It needs a redesign badly. Maybe this is a good time to finally use CSS. An excellent program for CSS editing is Style Master. They're from Australia!

The guys are also pissed that they didn't get one of those MacArthur Grants again. "C'mon, our crap is just as good as the next guy's! We're f--king genius, for f--k's sake! We play music, we write, and we designed this craptabulist site! So, c'mon--give us some f--king money!"

September 5, 2005

Hurricane Katrina. What a bitch. The band made a donation to the American Red Cross. It's going to take a lot of money to rebuild the Gulf Coast region. We're also donating any profits from CD sales of Six Feet Under for the month of September. Although some people would rather whine about the slow response from the federal government (although they did drop the ball) or attribute the hurricane to God destroying all the sinners in New Orleans (oh, please!) or blame it on global warming, I think the vast majority of Americans will choose to concentrate on helping their fellow citizens. There's no doubt in our mind that we can gut it out like no other country in the world.

July 23, 2005

The second edition of Losertown Today is now available. In fact, here is the XML XML feed.

July 1, 2005

Ah, what the hell. The guys decided to be lemmings and jump on the whole podcasting bandwagon, so download the first podcast of Losertown Today. Listen to Steven and Steve talk about the new CD and the 50 Songs in 90 Days! Yahoo group. Jiang Qi Hui makes a call from Beijing.

June 24, 2005

The guys were in the studio messing around with ideas for tracks for their next project, and the topic came around to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Is Tom Cruise freaking anybody else out as well? Steve decided to come up with his own religion and thinks Tom Cruise would be better served by it than Scientology. Steve calls it Losertology. As Steve explains it:

Church of Losertology

10 billion years ago, Flatu was born from a huge Galactic Fart. Flatu = Life = the Universe. It is all the same. Out of this Galactic Fart formed the stars and planets we see now. This event is known as GF. On one planet and one alone, life rose up out of the great Galactic Fart. Flatu is all around us. It is in the water, the air, the ground, and in every life form. When we fart, we reveal our connection to Flatu and how everything that was, is.

It is through Flatu that we know harmony and peace. When we deny Flatu, we feel troubled and worried and are filled with anxiety. In turn, this manifests into disease and wickedness. How do we deny Flatu? By holding in our farts. To realize the true path of Flatu and reach harmony and peace, we must free ourselves and fart unreservedly.

Look at the animals. They fart without reservation. Do they not appear content? That is because they are in harmony with Flatu.

When you have reached the ultimate level with Flatu, you will be in total harmony and peace. It is then that your farts will no longer stink nor will they make a noise. You will have reached the Flateau.

And the best part of this, says Steve, is that you never have to pay any money to go through any programs. You just fart. You know how to fart, don't you? You just put your butt cheeks together and blow.

June 4, 2005

Remember.

April 25, 2005

I live in losertown CD coverI live in Losertown. Where do you live?

Grab the songbook in Microsoft Reader format!

April 2, 2005

The CD has finally been mastered! It was again mastered by Mark Guenther of Seattle Disc Mastering. So, the day that the CD will be available on CDBaby is really, really soon for the low, low price of $8.00. Or does $7.99 sound better?

Here's the final track list:

This Land, Our Land
Vincent Chin
Lonely Street
Day of the Locusts
Halfway to the Grave
Never Believed
Uphill
Dick Cheney Greets the World

Coming up in the next few weeks, we'll have the songbook in PDA format posted!

January 21, 2005

Is everyone having a good year so far? Well, the guys decided to change the title of the upcoming EP to I live in losertown. They figured they should work in losertown somewhere. Is it possible to drag this thing out any longer??!

Anyway, the current lineup is:

This Land, Our Land
Day of the Locusts
Never Believed
Halfway to the Grave
Uphill
Vincent Chin
Dick Cheney Greets the World

The guys will probably add one more song, but they don't know which one yet--probably a new one. All the songs except for This Land, Our Land have been posted here as a rough demo. So, now you'll get to hear what the finished songs sound like. Well, you will have to buy the CD first, of course!

November 30, 2004

Nanowrimo 2004 Winner!

Hooray! Steven crossed over the 50,000 word mark at 11:40 pm today. Actually, this year it was pretty easy. There was much preparation this time around--character histories were written, an outline was made.

The band is happy though because they got tired of waiting for Steven to finish so they could wrap up their new EP, tentatively titled Lonely Street!

November 1, 2004

Losertown will be moving to a new webhost by the end of the month. You shouldn't notice any interruptions--with the exception of today when the nameservers were accidentily changed prematurely. Oops!

October 20, 2004

The band is in the middle of gathering material for a seven (probably) song EP to be released before the end of the year. Despite this, Steven insists on having another go at NanoWrimo this year!

Here's something different--this is an mp3 of the song Justine demoed by Gator Hole Recording Studio out of Nashville. It's sung by Dave Brooks, who is a member of the group Third Wheel. Have a listen!

August 24, 2004

Dick Cheney Greets the World! (3.6 meg mp3 file) Live (not really) from Steve's cousin's house. And no, it's not a political song. This was written a while back. Steven just thought it was strange that the vice president would resort to such incivility and then just shrug it off. The band is split on the upcoming election, but they all agree on one thing: it's stupid when musicians make these grand pronouncements on whom to support, as if they actually know anything!

June 17, 2004

On June 19, 1982, Vincent Chin was celebrating his impending wedding at a strip club called Fancy Pants in Detroit. He got into an altercation with Ronald Ebens and Michael Nitz, two laid off auto workers. The auto industry was reeling in the face of Japanese imports, and Ebens and Nitz assumed Chin, who was Chinese, was Japanese. Insults led to a fight which was broken up. Twenty minutes after Chin left, the two tracked him down and beat him with a baseball bat. Chin died as a result of the beating. Ebens and Nitz plead guilty to manslaughter and received three years probation and a three thousand dollar fine.

We seem to have a really skewed view when it comes to violence in this country. If you do drugs, they'll lock you away for life, but kill a man? That's about the worse thing you can do I would think--and get probation? Anyway, here's a song about that sad, sad incident entitled, The Death of Vincent Chin (4.1 meg mp3 file) - (lyrics).

May 17, 2004

Here's a new song by the band called, The Day of the Locust in honor of Brood X. Jiang Qi Hui correctly pointed out that it should be cicada, but Steven liked the fact that it's the same title as the fine novel by Nathanael West.

The band is in the slow process of gathering songs for the next CD. It's going to be slow because there are so many cool movies coming out this year that the guys want to see!

April 6, 2004

Stev has left the band as of February 2004 and returned to London. The good news is, Jiang Qi Hui has joined the gang as his replacement! Steven met him in Beijing during a recent trip there. Qi Hui remains in Beijing while the rest of the guys are stationed in Losertown, but they'll be working together through the magic of the Internet. The band is eager to work with Qi Hui on some new songs! In the meantime, you can read about Steven's trip to China!

February 14, 2004

Valentine's Day--blech! Anyway, the guys worked up another treatment of lyrics by David F. Cox, called Siamese Fool (3.4 meg mp3 file). The melody was cobbled from bits and pieces of stuff already done, and Steven's been suffering from some kind of viral respiratory infection for the last week, which is why the vocals sound the way they do.

January 6, 2004

Happy New Year! We just found out that the tracks from the Six Feet Under release are now on iTunes. Pretty cool. Now, if only the new mini iPods were less expensive...

December 28, 2003

Happy Holidays from the gang! Did everybody have a good time? Here's a tune for the holidays for ya--lyrics by David F. Cox. It's called Christmas Lights. (2.2 meg mp3 file)

November 30, 2003

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! The guys could eat turkey every day. Well, at least every Thursday. Now it's on to Christmas. Steven says they're thinking about putting up another Christmas song. Maybe it will become a tradition!

September 19, 2003

Hurricane Isabel has come and gone. The guys survived the night without too much difficulty. The power finally went down at around midnight and came back up around 4:30 am. For a storm that really wasn't all that powerful, it sure caused a lot of flooding and electricity outage. The guys feel lucky that they had their power restored so quickly. The traffic lights, however, are still all out..!

In the meantime...look for a TAXI diary here soon. Steven has decided to try for some extra income, so he joined TAXI. All the other guys laughed at him for doing so, but he just shook his fist at them, saying, "I'll show you!" The TAXI diary will track his progress, showing all his failures--and hopefully some successes.

July 20, 2003

CD Baby has a new digital distribution program, meaning that you'll be able to buy downloads off of the Six Feet Under CD. That is, if vendors like Apple iTunes accepts the music. There's no guarantee that they will. Overall the guys think this is a good thing--more routes for the Anomie Train...

June 18, 2003

What is with all this rain?! It seems it's been raining everyday now for the last two months. Anyway, here's another demo, You Never Believed In Me (3.7 meg mp3). This time Steven was going for a Robyn Hitchcock vibe.

May 26, 2003

Hope everyone is having a good Memorial Day. I guess it's good to reflect on why we even have Memorial Day. The guys came up with another demo, working on material for the next CD, but this song seems out of place and probably won't be on it. It's called Don't Go (3.0 meg mp3). Steven was trying for a high energy Third Eye Blind kind of vibe, but the songs always end up stevenized in the end!

May 6, 2003

Steven's been holed up at home the past few days--he went to see X-Men 2 on Sunday, and later that night he started feeling sick. Of course, being the paranoid sort, he started thinking SARS. Remember that scene in Outbreak where that guy sneezes in the theatre and infects everyone?

Anyway, Steven's head is starting to feel normal again, but he can't seem to finish up a new song he's been working on. It's tentatively called Walk Away, and so far he's only got the first two verses. The chorus he has just is not working. Here's a demo (1.2 meg mp3) of the verse if you want to check it out.

April 24, 2003

Finally Spring weather has taken hold, and it has generally lifted the spirits of all the guys--even the normally surly Stev. Stev was so happy he decided to write a song, which he shamelessly stole from a Christina Rossetti poem, Uphill. He even sings it. Steven and Steve add background vocals. Stev says it's either about the spiritual journey through life or about a guy going to a whorehouse. Download the Uphill demo (2.3 meg mp3).

March 24, 2003

Steven wanted to write a Kathleen Edwards type song, so here's a demo of If Someone Did (3.0 meg mp3). It has no bass line as yet, and the lyrics are still changing. Steven was pretty happy with the solo although as usual he made a lot of mistakes. Note: Steven took this off because he wanted to develop it more.

March 10, 2003

Steven was laid up with back problems today, so while he was stretching out his back on the floor, he was noodling around with his guitar. Even if he was in traction, he could still play the guitar. But what if he had no use of his left hand (remember when Tom Petty punched that wall)?

So here's a song he whipped up played with only his right hand, called Song I Would Write if I Had No Left Hand (2.1 meg mp3). The guitar track consists of only the open strings (E A D G B) so the song was written in the key of D. The solo was done by tapping on the frets. The dopey organ was played on a Prodikeys keyboard. There is no bass track.

February 18, 2003

Mother Nature took a big dump on us over the holiday weekend, so the guys remade an old 1997 song for the fun of it while they were holed up. Download the 2003 version of Seven of Nine (2.7 meg mp3).

Steve wanted to handle the vocals on this one although he had a stuffy nose. The song was originally in the key of G, but Steven slapped a capo on the second fret to accomodate Steve. The song is an ode to Seven of Nine, the well stacked Borg character played by Jeri Lynn Ryan on Voyager. Of all the racks on Star Trek, hers was the best. Best tits in space indeed!

February 9, 2003

Something new! Download the Strange Angels demo (3.6 megs mp3), the result of another one of those I'm bored, let's try something else today moods. Stev wanted to go to sleep so there's no bass track. The song is in the key of D which is too low for Steven--normally he'll put a capo on the 2nd fret for that--but he forgot. The lyrics are by David F. Cox.

Note: Stev added his bass track today (2/10/2003)

February 1, 2003

Happy Chinese New Year! It's the Year of the Sheep--is that why we feel a craving for mutton?

January 12, 2003

A Microsoft Reader version of the Six Feet Under songbook was uploaded for fans who have Pocket PCs!

January 5, 2003

Happy New Year! Unfortunately, the guys received some bad news (Real Audio), but they are determined to make the best of it. In the meantime, while they are promoting the new CD, Six Feet Under, they are thinking about the next CD. Remember when each member of Kiss released an album simultaneously? It's something along those lines!

December 17, 2002

Download Anomie Train's holiday message (mp3 file - 4.5 megs) to everyone, which includes a Christmas song!

December 8, 2002

The CDs have finally arrived! Buy it at CD Baby! Once it is set up links will be posted. They'll make a great Christmas present! Imagine someone opening it up and saying to you, "Who the hell is Anomie Train?"

Hope everyone has a great holiday and hope the world doesn't blow up so people can buy our CD! PS: Please buy our CD! Oh, in case you didn't get the hint--please BUY OUR CD!

Good News! Word just came in today that the CDs will be shipping to us on the 25th. Having this issue up in the air was causing the guys a lot of stress. The guys seem to have caught a secondary bacterial infection (and are now taking antibiotics) and the good news was really welcomed!

Well this is getting aggravating. Not only has the flu bug struck all the guys here, the CD has been delayed and the company handling the replication has either ignored or refused to answer two phone calls and two emails over the course of two weeks. So if worse comes to worse, a call will have to be made to Mastercard to have the charge put on hold. And then, of course, the whole process will have to start over again with another company...

The CD should be coming back from the pressing plant any day now. Hopefully we'll get it next week, and then it will be available on CD Baby. Right now it looks like the price will be $11.95.

By the way, if you're a music director for a college radio station--or any radio station for that matter--send us an email to stmon@losertown.org with the station call letters, station address, URL, and what college you're at and we'll send you the Six Feet Under CD once it comes out. We'll also list you on a page to show everyone just how groovy you are. And we promise not to harass you at 2:00 am every day to see if you've added any tracks to your rotation. Really.

Since you all have been patiently waiting for the CD to come out (do we hear crickets?), here's a free track for you that was done around the same time period as the CD. The lyrics are by David F. Cox. Steven replaced the rhythm guitar parts on the original demo with tracks using the Jay Turser, but the original guitar solo was kept and Steve can't remember what guitar was used.

It's called Storms (mp3 file - 2.7 megs).
